mp4 playback in client
I am using nero recode to compress some DVD's. The mp4's playback fine on the server. When I go to play them back on the Client I just get a black screen and sage freezes. I read some post's where people were experiencing similar problems. Does anyone have this working?

Do you have the same codecs installed on your client?

I play back mp4 files on the client but I use Nero Showtime as an external Video Player. I use Cayar's STV for external support.

I can play the mp4's in media player, and nero showtime on the client. I will use the external player if I can't get it to work.

I can play an MP4 file from inside of SageTV and have it open Nero Showtime, put Sage to sleep and play the file. Once the file is done playing I close Showtime and SageTV pops back up out of Sleep mode. If you use the Hauppauge 45 button remote, then I have a pretty good irremote file that controls Sage and Showtime perfectly (IMHO). I have been using Recode to create AVC MP4s from my dvds and they will not play inside of Sage, even the server.... So I am forced to use ShowTime as an external Player.

I can now playback mp4 files on the client if I use the browse feature on the menu for v3.013. When I go to play the mp4 from the video directory on the client, sage will hang, and I have to kill it. I have mapped the drive from the server to the client pc. Anyone have any ideas why this is happening?
