Recorder problems

Well, this weekend I decided to put the Sage server & all comm gear in the garage. Of course I forgot about my CCTV... but then i thought "aha, Sage Recorder as a netwrok encoder!" Unfortunately, things have not gone well.

I can't get Recorder to function on the desktop, let alone as a network encoder. If I fire it up (source composite) I get green/black garbage on the bottom 1/5th of the screen & the other 4/5th shows the CCTV image, but jumpy & pixelated.

My WinTV does the same thing the first time I open it; but if i close it & restart it, I get a perfect picture. Sage Recorder hangs if I close the preview window & restart it.

I've tried both video decoders, default and Intervideo.

Also, I tried to play back a recording to see if it were an encoding or display error. I got this message:

"There was an error with DirectShow.
Default rendering of output pin on source filter failed
ErrCode=0x8004022f"

Next I'll try setting it up as a network encoder, maybe this box is just having problems w/ playback... but suggestions are welcome!
