Sorry to answer without any specific help... I don't get that particular error, but I do occasionally (about 1 in ever 10-15 shows I play back) have sage start playing the video back at an incorrect rate which causes all kinds of audio havok. I have to go to another show entirely and start IT before I can go back to the one I want to watch and play it back correctly. Simply stopping and restarting it never works.

Could the issue possibly be related?

The first thing I would do, if you haven't done so already, is to try changing the audio and/or video renderers. Other things: make sure java is up to date & only 1 version is installed, make sure the video card driver is up to date, try disabling 3d Acceleration in SageTV... maybe someone else has other ideas.

You could also try contacting tech support to see if they have more specific comments.

how do I disable 3d acceleration in sagetv?

edit: nevermind, found it.

3d acceleration is off but it still doesn't work. java is up to date and only one version is installed. the video card driver is up to date...

can you exit sage and play any of the files in media player or bs player (or <insert personal media player favorite here>) or do you get the same results?

won't work anywhere. one odd thing is that WMP seems to adjusted to the size that a file would be, but nothing plays.. just get a black screen

could anyone instruct me on how to uninstall everything codec related, then what exactly to install? this is really frustrating me- if I can't sort it out I think I might end up formatting it

Last resort before reinstalling windows thingy... This will uninstall all codecs (ALL) and allow you to reset everything to defaults... Then you can reinstall any codecs you want.

As to what to reinstall, just reinstall sage over the top of itself.

Probably just as easy to just reformat and reinstall everything from scratch.

What decoders are you using? I don't know if this will help, but I started getting that message a week ago, and the problem turned out to be that my trial of the Nvidia decoders had expired. (Of course you can't buy them right now because their online store is "offline", but that's another issue...)
