Just got sagetv 2.2.8 help needed pls

Hello everyone.
I have just put myself a Shuttle ST62K with sagetv 2.2.8 together with a hauppauge pvr150.

Now i seem to have got a picture through my tuner via Rf without a problem and have allocated channel 68 as my sky channel obiously to record sky like you would on a video.
I then download the epg and got that in ok using the plugin but all the channels are now wrong, all my previously setup working channels have gone and the epg channels do not show any picture.
Is there a guide for this? or is there some sort of remapping needed?
Also can you rename the channel description?

I figure all the sky epg details will have to point to the tuner channel of 68 where the RF signal from the sky box comes in?

Hope someone can help.
Ta

First of all, going through RF is the worst option.
Why not go through composite or s-Video if your digibox has an svideo out?

Yes you have to map the epg channel names to the corresponding Sky EPG number.
You do this through channel setup, select the channel you want eg Sky Movies 1 press the remap key and type in the Sky EPG number (301).
Do this for all the channels and you are set.

For pictures, you have to rename you logo picture files to the name exactly as shown in the SageTV EPG. eg sky one.jpg, bbc.jpg etc.

Hi lucas
Thx for the reply

I don't have composite or S-video output from my digibox hence i will have to use channel 68 for the RF output from the SKY RF.
So surely this will mean i will need to enter 68 for all the channels after i have imported the epg?

ok, I see what you mean.
You do have a Scart though and with a Scart to Composite or a Scart to SVideo + an RGB to SVideo converter you can get much better picture quality.

If you stick with RF, you only enter the channel once when you first configure the source.

You still have to go and map each channel to the corresponding Sky EPG number.

Hope this is clearer.

thx again Lucas
So am slowly getting there...
Are you saying that if i use s-video in or comp... then i just change the channel number from my imported rt grabber in sage to whatever the actual sky channel number is?

if this is the case i would still have to change the sky channel over to what ever channel i needed to actually record from? but use the epg data to put the details against the recording?
Also i gather you can use a ir blaster to change the sky channel for you? i only have the hauppauge ir.

Sorry for being new at this.

Didn't go online during the weekend.
I went through the same stuff a year ago so I understand how it feels to be new....
So ask away... You will find that people here are very helpful. It is one of the reasons I chose SageTV.

>> Are you saying that if i use s-video in or comp... then i just change the channel number from my imported rt grabber in sage to whatever the actual sky channel number is?

You have to do that in all cases, even when you use RF.

Without the blaster you have to set the Digibox to change channels. With a blaster, and I believe the 150 has a blaster, SageTV will send the channel digits to the digibox to change the channel to what ever channel uou select from the epg for watching or whatever channel the recording is on.

That is why it essential to map the epg channel to the correct digibox channel number.
