sage2.28 USBURIT

Hey guys.

Just did a reinstall and setting up ny new (zoned) USBUIRT. I'm having problems at the setup wizard trying to select external tuning. When it gets to "what to tune with" I select USB-UIRT Transceiver but it won't advance. I have the dlls in place as before, in the Common folder. Also I'm using the latest USB-UIRT driver. I know I'm missing something simple here - can someone light the bulb for me ?

Thx

Davey

Are you using SageTV's service mode? If so, try setting it up w/o the service enabled. I seem to recall some posts about using the USB-UIRT + the service, but can't remember the details. A quick search found this thread, but I thought there were some other comments on it too.

Thanks Opus. I got that working by reverting back to the original STV. For some strange reason it wouldn't work under the Mlbdude stv. However, I ran into a bigger problem. the wonderful sageException (4,0,0) failed to render video error. I have tried everything to get it working, switched decoders, default, overlay, VMR9, changed video drivers (I'm using an ATI 9600 PRO with the DVI dongle out) - same error everytime. There's obviously a problem with the newer version of sage. I've had to drop back to version 2.019 to get it to work. Guess I'll never be upgrading

I'm not familiar with that error. But, what version of DirectX is installed? You might need the latest one... unless you already did that too.

Hi Opus,

the exact error is:
There was a Playback Error in playback. Details:
sage.PlaybackException: ERROR (-4,0x0): There was a problem rendering the video portion of the content for playback.

I have DX9.0c installed. Not sure where to go from here in terms of troubleshooting. I would love to get a later version running.

You might want to send a note to tech support to see what the "0x0" error means. Normally, there is a longer number than that, but I seem to reall others posting an error like that.

What tuner are you using?

Also -- in all the things you listed above that you tried, did you try disabling 3D Acceleration in Detailed Setup -> Advanced?

thx for the reply. I'll submit it and see if I can get some help. I did try it with 3D enabled and disabled, as well as turning off overlay color keying - still doesn't work, I'm using pvr-250s....
