I used Cayars with it, it should just be a matter of selecting it as the decoder.

I use SageMC16x9 with it. This works really well because the graphical simplicity of some of the themes make the conversion to 256 colours of the OSD quicker and the whole thing more responsive, especially if you make the gradient backgrounds into plain colour.

I said used because i've since switched to the VIP port on my xcard as described here http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11199

The plugin works very well, I just couldn't deal with the delays and color loss. Most people may be better off with the plugin since it doesn't require other hardware or even opening up the computer.

I certainly wouldn't suggest not using the plugin because ErasatzTom has done a very good job of getting things working with it.

I know it works with my STV, but I'm going to have to have a property to turn off the Gradient and Transparency to make it go quicker. *EDIT*: In the newer version, I took out the background picture completely and it had a very noticeable improvement in speed.

Surprisingly, the show logos show up as if they were not dithered. The only way you know the dithering is in place is when you look at the gradient fill of the solid color items.

Lauren

You should be able to use any STV with it. As far as I know, SageTV draws the UI image internally & then sends that off to the plugin for it to display.

I do something similar on my system: I use my custom MalDude2 STV, but I changed the background image to a solid blue color. I haven't realy checked to see if it sped anything up, but I just ran with the theory.

I actualy ordered the VIP cable, but I _still_ haven't found the time to mess with it. There is certainly something to be said for not having to open up the case & switch cards.
