record and playback at the same time WinTV 350
Sorry if this has been asked...I'm getting ready to buy some hardware so I'd like to know the answers up front.
A few related questions: 1) Can I record and playback at the same time ( e.g. I'm recording show "foo" and watching recorded show "bar". ) Hardware: PIII 733 256 ?speed? Ram NVidia Ti 4200 WinTV 350 ( haven't bought yet, waiting to see the answer here!) 2) From reading the WinTV 350 specs, it looks like it has "video out", so will I be playing back "out" from the video card or the 350? 3) If the video card, will sage use the 350's hardware decoding (while, in this case, also using the encoding for record ) 4) If not is this enough CPU to handle this? Thanks! |

jman,
1) Only with SageTV, SageRecorder does not support recording one show while watching another. 2) You'll be playing video back from the PVR-350 card through S-video (But you will get video only, no OSD) 4) That should be enough CPU if you are using the PVR-350 for decoding otherwise it will depend on the MPEG acceleration of your Video card if you were to use the PVR-250.

The 350 has an audio/video output cable. So if you use the 350's Hardware Mpeg decoder for video you could use the 350's audio ouput cable for your TV or AV system.
