Volume Gradients?
I use the system volume to control my sound output. the volume control in Sage seems to have around 15 increments of adjustment. While it does work fairly well for most circumstances, it does seem to be a bit too coarse of adjustment in low volume circumstances. like at late night. I usually end up having it on the lowest setting and it is a touch louder than I would like, the next increment down is silence. I then would have to grab my other remote and turn the tv sound down. which then the highest volume is too low for listening to music. and I then again have to adjust the tv volume again. I would like to have one volume adjustment and eliminate the need for the second remote.
Is there a way to have fine adjustment of the sound in sage. maybe in the 30 increments range? or is it limited by the system settings? |

On p. 184 of the v2.2 manual is a property you can try: videoframe/volume_step. I never tried it, though.

How cool, I need to look into this as I experience the same problem. I play my sound through an external amp, and then control volume with Sage via the remote. It's great during the day, but at night there's just not enough granularity at lower volumes.

Hmmm... I'll have to check that out as well for the same reasons.

Opus,
It works like a charm. I adjusted it from increments of 5 to increments of 2. I did try it at 1, but it seemed to take too long to adjust the volume. |
