NVIDIA 6600 Video Monitor Problem

I've got a NVIDIA 6600 card that I'm using. Got it from a Sony PC, so I'm not sure if its the GT that I read about on all the threads here, it's got 256MB vram.

My problem isn't my TV (although see below). I've also got cheap old Dell 15in LCD hooked up via DVI and a VGA/DVI adapter (LCD is VGA only). My problem is that the LCD only shows part of the screen, while the TV shows the whole screen.

Plus, here's some freaky behavior. The image on the LCD is ONE CLICK BEHIND that on the TV. Meaning, as I'm scrolling through Sage menu options, the TV shows the previous menu focus (n-1) from the TV.

I previously was using an ATI 8500 AIW (again, w/the LCD hooked up to the DVI on that card via the adapter) and didn't have this problem.

Even when I minimize Sage this problem persists. I usually need to "refresh" the screen by doing something like changing the resolution, for the LCD to snap into shape.

Here's the aside: The NVidia 6600 came with an SVideo 7pin out, which I though was weird. It also had an SVideo 7pin > RCA Video adapter, which I also though weird. So I got on EBay and found an adapter that changed from 7pin SVideo to 4pin SVideo + RCA Video + RCA left audio + RCA right audio (apparently sold w/a Dell laptop ~2000). Bonus points to any of you helpfuls who can help me understand NVidia/Sony's decision to use the 7pin SVideo out.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry, I can't help you with the LCD problem.

The seven pin s-video port (actually a 7 pin mini din, IIRC) has multiple video signals. With the proper dongle or cable you can access S-video and composite video at the same time without needing a s-video to composite adaptor.

7 pin din pinout-basically, the Y and C signals are on the outside, the composite is on two of the inside pins. I've seen these connectors on capture card inputs and video card outputs. Thankfully, the 4 pin s-video cable fits into the connector and allows you to access the y/c signal.
