how do I get screen saver to work? (with a 350)

am I missing something?

I set the screen saver time to 5 minutes... should the screen saver then appear after 5 minutes of inactivity while video is paused/stopped? It doesn't on my setup. Is there something I'm missing here? Something relating to windows screen saver or something else?

Are you running SageTV is full screen mode, or in windowed mode? The SageTV screen saver is only active when run in full screen mode. And, the screen saver has to be enabled. (Pages 132-133 in the v2.2 manual.) Does that solve it or not?

well I'm basically running a headless box with PVR350 out, and I hadn't paid any attention to fullscreen or not... it's currently in a window I guess, so I'll have to VNC in and check that.

thanks again Andy!

Oh -- I don't know anything about using the screen saver when using the 350's TV-out. Since I'm not sure how that will affect things, I changed the thread title to include that in case it attracts someone else's attention.

ok, so when I hit "toggle fullscreen mode", should I expect the sage window to take the full screen on the PC? nothing at all seems to happen...

When using the 350's TV out, the SageTV window is set to a fixed size & you can't make it go full screen. That might mean that you can't use the screen saver with the 350. I always use my Xcard & MVP while SageTV is sleeping (you can do the same with the 350 if you control SageTV with event codes via Windows messages), so I don't even use the screen saver.

So... does anyone with a 350 use the SageTV screen saver? If it doesn't work, maybe there's a suggestion for a future change -- allow the screen saver in these cases even though SageTV is not running full screen.

Yes, I use the screen saver with the 350 output. It has always worked fine. I'm still using SageTV version 2.0.20 though, so something could be different in the current version.

For me the screen saver only comes on when I put sage to sleep. It would be nice if it would automatically come on after a few seconds if I leave it at a menu, while paused, etc.
