Is there a way to temporarily remove all my shows and bring them back?
I like to make Ghost hard drive images of all my computers as backups and easy system restores if my hard drive dies etc....
Is there a way to move all my recorded shows to another computer, and then make a ghost image of my Sage computer (to make a smaller ghost image backup file as well as make it a faster process)? I would then need to copy them back to my Sage computer - I don't know if this is possible - I think I tried in the past by cutting and pasting one of the shows, and when I copied it back it was no longer in my Sage recordings menu. Thanks! Steve |

Just make sure SageTV.exe (and the SageTV Service, if you are using it) is shut down completely.. not just asleep. Do a backup of the C:\Program Files\Frey Technologies\SageTV\ directory minus the video subdirectory. Then move out all your videos and perform your image. Make sure to put back all the videos before you start up SageTV (or before you reboot, if you have SageTV autoloading).

Another approach you can use (at least the next time you partition/format your drives) is to store the movies on a different drive letter. This way when you ghost, just ghost the C drive and have movies on a different drive. I do this and it works very well.
This also gives you the added flexibility of formatting your C drive with normal cluster size and formatting your recordings drive with 64k block size which is better for the large recording files. |
