Where is the SAGETV Media Center?

This was supposed to be generally available Q1 2005. I'm still waiting to hear about when I can buy this device.

I hope it comes out before Microsoft releases the new XBOX. The New XBOX might obsolete this product if it comes out first.

When did they say "1Q05" ?

Only references I find to a release date just say "early 2005".

Being a little impatient? Frey said Spring '05 - Last I checked it's still spring.

I'd rather have them take a little longer an release a product that works right and requires few bug fixes, unlike Microsoft who releases a product that requires hundreds of bug fixes.

Don't think it'll make the Sage offering obsolete, since it most likely won't integrate with our SageTV systems. I do agree though that they need to get us some new toys out to play with .

Sure, that's possible... If they can make the media center can play XBOX games.

I'm not in any hurry, personally... None of the features they ADVERTISED are exciting to me at all.

I already have Media MVP support.
I already have a Web Scheduler.
I don't need/want Linux.

Only thing that would excite me is:
1. A more modular interface to get out of the STV hell.
2. HD cqard support out of the box. Now that I have one HDTV my opinion is changing quickly on the importance of this feature.

Sorry guys. I'm just jealous that I missed out on the beta release!

$99 for that box sounds so sweet. I feel like a little kid waiting for christmas to come.

jeffld,

What do you mean by "I'm just jealous that I missed out on the beta release!"
There has been no 'beta release' to miss out on. If you mean the Sage extender, it has been confirmed by Sage that it is a rebadge of the Hauppauge MVP. Meaning if you want one TODAY, just buy one. Then, download Matt's excellent client for it and away you go.....

FWIW, you can get them for about $80 if you do some searching.

And there was a beta for Sage MC, but it was more than $99.

You're probably referring to the v3 Linux SageTV system they have people beta testing. You're not going to hear anything until it's realeased because the beta testers had to sign NDAs.

We'll likely hear more about that when v3 release gets closer.
