Win2k partitions disappear

I've had a problem where partitions on a large (160GB) drive randomly disappear under windows 2000 after days/weeks of running fine. In some cases the drive disppeared and returned only showing 130GB. Sounds like a 48bit LBA issue.

In case anyone else is also seeing this, I believe I've solved the problem by setting a registry setting "EnableBigLBA" - just google for it, you'll find plenty of references.
