Favorites issues

Problem 1: Using Zap2it in Canada for EPG. All SpikeTV episodes of CSI are marked as FirstRun (in info screen) even though they obviously aren't. Same for Bravo episodes of Law & Order. Is there any way to address this (although I suspect it is an issue with the data provided by Zap2It). I know that I can tell Sage to record a favourite on only 1 channel, can I tell it to never record a favourite on a particular channel (or channels)? I want to be able to take advantage of time zones to help get all new episodes - can't do that if I restrict a show to one channel. 160gigs fills up fast when you record all the CSI and L&O reruns on these days

Problem 2: Law & Order favourite is set as First Runs and Reruns. Can set it to Reruns only, but cannot set it to First Runs only. Tried deleting the favourite and then setting it up again; still ignores my setting and puts it to FRs & RRs. How can I fix this?

Problem 1 possible resolution:

rerunLogic - this controls how the plugin handles reruns. There are two settings 'normal' and 'aggressive'. 'normal' is the default behaviour. Only shows indicated as reruns in the data will be marked as reruns in SageTV. For the 'aggressive' setting, in addition to the shows marked as reruns using the 'normal' logic, all shows which air after their original air date are marked as reruns. For example, all syndicated shows will be marked as reruns.

Okay - I've thought of a possible problem with the rerunlogic flag:

If a new episode is run at 7pm and 10pm local, I think it will work okay as the air time isn't checked (only the air date). But what if the new episode is on today and in three days - the new ep in three days will be seen as a rerun.

Is is possible to set the flag to "all shows which air MORE THAN 1 WEEK after their original air date are marked as reruns"?

You could set up more than one favorite, each restricted to a different channel. At least I think that would work.

Yeah, that would work most of the time. However, I have noticed that addtl airings of the 'new' episode sometimes happen on bizarrre channels that I wouldn't expect. This wouldn't address that.

I think the best solution would be extra control over the channels that the favourite can use (specify one/many, disallow one/many, allow all).

Any ideas why I can't specify FirstRun only for L&O?

I would tend to regard this behaviour as being technically correct. If an episode airs today and then airs three days from now then the second airing IS a rerun (since it didn't air on it's original air date). Granted, this isn't the behaviour that you are desiring, but it seems technically correct to me.

However I will consider your request for more flexibility on rerun handling when I make future updates to the plugin.

Cheers
Lester
