Sage client very choppy

I have the server fully working and was about to purchase it as my 15 day trial is just about up. I figured I would take advantage of the client as well providing it works with my current hardware.

The client machine is a Toshiba laptop with 1Ghz processor and 512 mb of ram. The video card is a built-in S3 Savage IXC. Networked via 11mbit wireless with 128bit encryption turned on. So this may slow things down considerably.

When I connect to the server and select a recording to play back over the network it is very choppy. I am only untilizing 70% CPU max so I am guessing my bottleneck is the network.

For a video recorded high quality, what is the minimum network bandwidth to be able to use the client. If this should be enough, then where should I look to see why it is so choppy.

Actually searching the archives it looks like this connection is not fast enough and 11.g may be needed even for lower quality videos.

So I guess it is time to upgrade the network.

For 802.11b, you need to lower the recording rate to about 1.5mb per hour, even then it could get a little choppy at times. But with a good wireless 802.11g router/system, any recording rate should be no problem for Sage server - clients, even with wep or wpa.

I'm not familiar with wireless network, but I sure hope that there is a unit error in your post dude !
