New Nvidia MX4000 card and Menu has artifacts

I finally threw in the towel on trying to get my PVR 350 to not lock up using it as TV-out and decided to get another video card to handle the output. I purchased an Nvidia MX4000 and reloaded everything from scratch. With the latestest drivers etc.

My problem is when SageTV starts up the menus on the PC screen are artifacted and red in color and sometimes are not even displayed at all. If I select the option under the Multimedia menu "Enable UI on TV-Out for PVR-350" the menus look fine but doesn't this "bypass" the mx4000 card and not use it for TV-out?

I have the setting TV-out for PVR-350 set to disabled and just next setting down to enable UI for PVR-350 set to enabled. Will this use my MX4000 card properly as the TV-out device? Unfortunately I'm at work with this system and don't have a tv hooked up right now. I'm not sure if I have a bad MX4000 video card or this is the way the UI settings need to be for SageTV.

Thanks for any help.

Sounds like you're having an issue with 3D accelleration. When you enable the 350's output, it disables 3D Accelleration. So make sure 3D Accelleration is disabled in detailed setup -> advanced.

Thanks for your tip about 3D accelleration. I think I have the menu fixed now by Disabling 3D accelleration. So I now have:

TV-Out for PVR-350: Disabled
UI on TV-Out for PVR-350: Disabled
3D-Accelleration: Disabled

And now the menus are readable. I guess it's time to take this howe and hook it up to a TV to see if it works. Should SageTV automatically use the TV-out on the MX4000 or is there anything else you would recommend doing?

Thanks again for the help!

You'll want to make sure the TV/TV-out is the primary display. If it's the only one connected you should be fine.
