why did these get recorded?

I vaguely remember ER got recorder last week or perhaps the week before.
They aren't favorites - I checked
IR is disabled
They aren't listed in the recordings list or imported library
The are in a folder where new recordings are placed
No one else uses this
Cayars17 import STV by nielm, sage v 2.2.8

Pasted from another post:

I'm not sure if this should be in this thread or nilem's FF/REW thread, (I'm using cayars17_import STV). But I don't think there's anything in that STV different than here for viewing history, so I'm posting it here.

My viewing history shows shows I've *never* watched on channels like BET, ESPN, SPEED, etc. Why is that?

It's also recording shows I didn't request. IR disabled, not a favorite or manual recording and not listing them in the media library.

Were you watching live TV? Perhaps you were watchig the shows that were on right before these? If so, recording continues with the next show when in "live TV" mode & then it looks like you stopped live TV before a couple of those recordings were finished.

maybe ..but I think I was watching recorded shows at 10:43 pm. I hardly ever watch live tv. if I do it's just to tell it to record something that's already begun. the rest of the time- like 99%- I do manual recordings and have 4 favorites.

Don't forget that if you are watching a "recorded show" that is still in progress, you are watching live TV. If you are not doing that either, then I suppose something else is going on.

The unscheduled live TV shows should get deleted fairly soon after the show is over, though. See p. 190 of the v2.2 manual. do you have the property mentioned there set to false? If so, live TV will stick around until the space is needed.

yes i have that to false because sometimes if I'm actually watching something on tv abnd want to record it, I just punch up sage and watch it there so it records, and then do 'stop playback' in cayars. that should stop it.
but for this, these are shows I don't (want to) watch so I wasn't watching then as live tv. In fact around that time last night, I think I was watching a show that was on from 9-10 but I was watching about 30-45 min later. but anyway, that was 'the apprentice' and not one of these

By "30-40 minutes later", do you mean after the show was done recording, or do you mean you started watching it 30-40 minutes after it started. As I mentioned above, watching a recording that is in progress essentially turns on live TV mode & everything continues to record after that untill you do one of the things mentioned here.

I don't remember what time I started. But I was watching on the client. Does that make a difference? If not, I'll try to pay attention and see if that's the cause of it or if it continues.
Thanks for ytour help

No, it doesn't matter if you were watching the show on the client. Recordings in progress are still live TV. If these recordings continue when you are _sure_ live TV is not active (such as when SageTV is sleeping on all systems), then something else is happening.
