upgrade problems! where are my upcoming recordings?

hi, i just tried to upgrade from sage 2.1 (w/ cayars 17 stv) to 2.2 and things are messed up! i also reinstalled the drivers for my pvr-500. now, when i checked my upcomng recordings, it lists the same files that are already in 'my recordings' even though my favorites are still listed correctly.

among other things, it says 'now recording 2 shows, but it isnt. when playing a file, i can't fast forward & the timestamp thing that pops up is way off. i tried going back to 2.1 but it's screwed up too... even using the files that i backed up before the upgrade. what's going on? any help would be great & thanks!

The system reports the pvr-500 is operating OK? No other processes are using it? (some other pvr program?) Have you gone through the source setup wizard again to configure the sources after reinstalling the drivers?

I would consider trying deleting the properties files (and their autobackups, after saving copies elsewhere) and reconfiguring SageTV.

got it! somehow my computer had gone back in time to Jan 2002 so i guess sage thought my already recorded shows were still upcoming? anyway, i reset the date & all seems to be working now

thanks a lot. if i hadn't tried to find the info you asked for, i never would have noticed the screwey date.

i have two semi-related noobish questions while i'm here:

1. does sage check for the correct time online or do i need to set this with surgical precision?

2. when selecting my channel lineup, i have a choice of 3. comcast garden state, comcast garden state cable ready tv, and comcast garden state digital. then, within those, i have the option of basic or extended basic service. except for the digital one having all the additional channels obviously, i don't see a difference between the rest. i'm sure it's all explained somewhere, but i haven't found it & i probably shouldn't just guess like i normally do

thanks again!

There is an option in Detailed Sretup -> General to sunc the system clock, or you could run some atomic clock utility like a lot of us do to make sure the clock is updated regularly.

I don't think that one is explaied anywhere... you just select the choice that reflects the cable service you've subscribed to.

ok, thanks! i'd forgotten about the time sync option. the atomic clock sounds like a good idea too.

as for the comcast, i've subscribed to digital, but my htpc is only plugged in to the coax so i know it's one of the first two. then i'm left w/ the basic/extended basic thing. i guess i'll compare them more closely.

thanks
