I think you need to look on the Sage Support page at the FAQ.

Is there a remote control for SageTV products?
Yes, SageTV functions with the remote control provided with the TV Tuner/ MPEG-2 Encoding Card. SageTV also supports third party IR receivers such as the IRMan and the USB-UIRT. Devices like the IRMan allow you to use any infrared remote control to send commands to your PC. SageTV also has fully integrated remote learning capabilities from within the application.

SageTV Recorder works with the remote control provided with the Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-250, PVR-350 and PVR-usb2. SageTV Recorder can also be configured to work with Girder.

No where does it say Sage supports the Imon remote. You could use a siftware package called Girder and the Imon plugin to get it to work with Sage.

I have the Imon, you need to run through the Imon setup and assign keyboard shortcuts. The sage manual has a long list of kb short cuts to use. The remote has good range with no delays.

You setup what ever other software you want to control the same way. Examples include Power DVD and media player, all have keyboard shortcuts. The application launcher is a good feature, it starts the program you want and loads your setup for that device

The joystick took a bit of getting used to, it has two modes keyboard and mouse, in keyboard mode at first when I tried to go up, I would give too much left and it would go back a menu. Once I got used to in it is fine. When in sage make sure you are in keyboard mode and the joystick can be used as up/down/left/right arrows and pressing is enter.

If this makes no sense I can give better step by step, but just mess around with it, you'll get it.
