Here's a big YES to updates!
I would like to be able to keep my HD card in a separate PC than my Sage server, and HDNE lets me do that now. That, and I don't plan on moving to 3.0 until it's been released and bug-tested for a while. Here's at least one person who appreciates your hard work, and uses it every day! -Chris

Stealth, have you done much digging into what it would take to support QAM? Based on terrain factors, OTA is pretty much no-go for me but QAM on my F5 Lite works fine. If you could somehow get that up and functioning, life would be good!
Thx! Jason |

I would second adding QAM support if at all possible, as I don't have a good terrestrial feed that I can use here either.

I too would like to use your HDNE to allow me to have my HD tuners in another box on the network (ran out of PCI slots)

Ok - looks like there is definitely still interest in this with some good reasons.
I am going to try to make it 3.0 compliant - 3.0 supports digital channels now - so it is sending major.minor channel switching i.e 5.1, 7.2, etc to the network encoder.

I'm looking forward to trying it with 3.0. Especially if QAM is a possibility!

I am also interested in the network-encoder-only functionality. I have not looked to fully incorporate the HD-tuner into my Sage server due to a lack of sub-channel support in the pre-3.0 beta releases.

Don't mean to sound impatient but, how is that coming along?!

Updates are a good thing
I'm interested in updates for this, since I plan to run tuners in two machines.

Stealth1971,
I had been using your HDNE until the new Betas came out. However, yesterday I tried to install a Avermedia card with a Fusion card. The two exist in the machine nicely but Sage will not use them both at the same time. I looks like I am back to encoding from a remote machine on at least one card. My questions is can the current version of HDNE be used at all with the new Betas or do you need to update the code for this to work? Lain |

Has this project been superceded by ver 4.0? Is network encoding natively supported in ver 4?

ditto, I'm interested in putting an HD card on my non-htpc due to lack of pci slots... hoping for an update, thanks!
( believe network encoding is natively supported in v4, but you need a second full sagetv licen$e on the second machine, which seems a bit steep just for that functionality. 20$ for the sagerecorder was reasonable but it doesn't support hdtv; free is even better!)
