Change the Order of Encoders?

Is there a way to change the order of the encoders in Sage? I have three PVR-500 cards and am having a problem with one of the tuners on one of the cards.

The first tuner in the list (shows as #6) is having some problems with herringbone noise in the picture. The other tuner on that card does not have the problem, just that one.

How do I push #6 down to the bottom of the list?

Eventually, I'm going to pull the card and ship it to Hauppauge for repair/replacement, but I have to wait till after May sweeps so I don't have to worry about missing a show. So, I just want to make #6 be the last one that Sage chooses.

Shutdown sagetv and edit the encoder_merit lines in your properties file. Try giving the bad encoder a merit of 5 and the good ones merit of 10.

This topic got me thinking. I have PVR250 in my server. Why is it that Capture Card #2 is listed first in Sage?

turak - Thanks, I'll try that tonight...

DynamoBen - I wondered that as well. Mine come up 6, 1, 3, 2, 5, 4 (more or less), but the point is that they don't show in order (at least not ordered by name).

Well, it worked... In the channel setup screen, they are still out of order, but using Cayars, I looked at the upcoming recordings by encoder, and #6 (the bad one) was not scheduled to be one of the ones in use even when 5 things were recording...

Thanks again!
