Unable to Recognize 2nd pvr-250

I am fairly new to SageTV.

I have two PVR-250 cards that have been working fine in SageTV for months without problems. However, once I decided to upgrade to 2.2.8 from 2.2.1, the following started to occur:

Sage only recognizes one of my 2 pvr's. I have taken the first pvr out, installed the new drivers (from both Hauppauge and SHSPVR, during separate instances) then installed sage 2.2.8. The tuner is recognized, configures and works just fine.

When I shutdown and install pvr card #2 with the same procedure as card #1, Sage does not recognize either of the 2 cards. The setup wizard is open , asking to select the video capture device below, but nothing is listed.

So, I then uninstalled Sage, ran hcwclear and shutdown. This time I plugged in card number 2 and pulled out card # 1 ( in the respective pci slots) and installed drivers and sage the same as just described, and everything works fine. When the card #1 is installed (which is the second card to install in this instance), sage doesnt recognize either card and gives the same setup wizard prompt.

I have tried using old drivers, using older versions of sage, updated to java 5.0.

I also have noticed that in the sage.properties file, the mmc/ignore_encoders line reads NVIDIA(r) nForce(TM) Audio, Hauppuage WinTV PVR PCI II Capture\#2
when both cards are installed (but not working as described above) I have deleted the line and saved the file (while Sage is not running) but the line always seems to reappear after a reboot, after deleting the properties file, after deleting wiz.bak and wiz files.

I do not know how to get sage working properly again, utlizing my 2 tuners

I realize that these issues may have been posted before, so if someone can point me in the right direction, it would be much appreciated.

Problem with "mmc/ignore_encoders=" line, Please Help

In the Sage.properties file,

the mmc/ignore_encoders= always displays my Hauppauge PVR #2 card, no matter how many times I delete and save the file.

I have also tried re-installing sage, but with no difference.

How do I fix this problem.

Thank you.

Since the original question was posted a few days ago & no one has had an idea yet, I suggest that you contact Frey's tech support to see if they know a solution.

BTW: If both cards are shown as operating correctly in System Property's Device Manager, and you are trying to remove the sage.properties file, be sure you are deleting the autobackup copy of it too, or else the backup copy will get used instead of a new properties file.
