H10 Low speed data

Channel changes via a home-made cable to the low speed data port were working fine on my D10. I wanted to upgrade to HDTV. I checked that the H10 had the same low speed data port, then bought one.
It does not seem to work. A call to DirecTV reveals that it is only supposed to work with TiVO. Has anybody had any luck with controling the H10 via the low speed data port ?

I have the same problem using SageTV and my H10, not able to change channels using the serial cable to the low speed data port. But I just ordered one of these "TV Translaters" from http://www.patersontech.com/

Looks like it should do the job. If you want, I can post or email you my results after getting it.

What version of Sage are you trying to do this with?
-------------------------
Per the D* document here --> http://www.sbcatest.com/installers_h...0_peculiar.pdf

H10 0.4.33 All commands need a carriage return to be
recognized. Therefore each command string input
must be followed by 0x0D (the carriage return hex
code).

Also check this installer help guide --> http://www.sbcatest.com/installers_help_d10.pdf for more sereial comms details which may or may not help you.

I've got the 3.0 beta running, and was running 2.2.8 earlier.

Any idea if I can program Sage to send the <CR> / 0x0D behind each command?

Thanks for the info!

try it with DTVControl first. Make sure that works, then I'd contact Sage tech support.

STF some for the registry keys and D* stb serial control. You may need to add the 2 registry hives.

Well, I'm getting closer! I've got the TV Translator device hooked up to the serial cable and I can now turn on/off the receiver, check signal strength and do other stuff. But I can't seem to get the channels to change. I'm sure it's just a code or sequence issue, so I've got more playing to do. Using DTVControl helps, thanks for the tip!

Got it working (the H10 receiver with SageTV via Low Speed port). It was a combination of using the TV Translator device AND latest 3.0 beta. The beta 3.05 didn't work, but 3.14 did.
