350 Tv Out but not for everything?

I have a new install with 2.2 and a 350 card... I'm trying to figure out the best way to hook this up to my HT... the TV out works well when watching tv.. or things Sage has recorded... but when I try to play imported video or dvds it does not go out that port. Similar issues for audio... so what's the right/best way to hook this up without having to switch between multiple inputs depending on the material you are watching? I must be missing something...

J

The 350 only works or standard MPEG files, like Sage recordings, the only way to avoid switching outputs/inputs is to not use other types of files, or not use the 350's output.

I use the TV out of my PVR350. My recommendation would be to record all your DVD's into Sage so you don't need to play DVD Disks from within Sage. This would help to keep the disks safe especially if you have young children and would also remove clutter from your lounge. You would also have access from any Sage Client without having to go and get the DVD. It is a bit tricky but you could use power DVD to play the DVD and feed it back into the PVR350 to record it. an easier solution would be to keep your DVD player and play the DVD's in there to download them.

Of course copying DVD's is not legal so the above is only hipothetical

Maybe my post is not really correctly here but i is nearly the same Problem.

I have seen a lot of posts here that the PVR 350 TVOUT only plays MPG1 and MPG2. Well i tried a lot of things on the weekend to convert some of my divx movies to mpg2 and to play it with the PVR350 TVOUT, no success.

I used one of my pvr350 recorded Files and compared the resolution, codecs and Audio with my converted File. Looks allmost the same.
(I will post more infos when i'm back home.)

Does anyone have hints on this one ??

I would like to convert most of my Divx movies to a format that sageTV (PVR350 Tvout) understands.

Ciao
Alessandro

Strange, it works fine for me. You have to check the resolution, sound, etc. and if you use PAL or NTSC. What kind of converter program do you use?
I myself use the program WinAVI video converter with succes.
