Finding Previous Recordings
Okay, noob here so be gentle.
I have been trying out SageTV in trial mode, making several recordings. I ran into a problem with Sage and therefore uninstalled it several times. Now that I have fixed my problems I have 2.2.7 reinstalled, but I want my old recordings to show up in the "SageTV Recordings" screen. Is there a way to make SageTV look for those old recordings and have them show up there? |

Welcome to Sage ! Yeah, you can have the old recordings show up in new installations by keeping (backing up) wiz.bin and copying it to the new Sage directory. Most of us keep a backup of the entire Sage directory though this is not necessary for just recording info. When you get some time, this is a very good thread to go through to get you started: http://forums.freytechnologies.com/f...ead.php?t=1601. This thread: http://forums.freytechnologies.com/f...&threadid=6318 contains a great utility to backup the essential Sage files automatically. Good luck!

Thanks for the response! Since I didn't back up some of my files, I won't be able to get some of my old recordings to show up. Thankfully I am a new user and I don't have much recorded.

The only way that I know of to get them back, is to move them into a directory pointed to by library import. You will then be able to play the recording, but you loose all information about it. But you can at least watch the show
