Where's my NVidia codec system tray icon?
Greetings!
I thought I'd try out that MediaPortal program just to see what it looked like -- still way too buggy for me. Don't know if this is related to my problem or not, but it's worth mentioning. Anyway, when I switched back to SageTV, I noticed that I no longer have a system tray icon for the Nvidia codec. I know it was there last weekend when I installed the codec, but now it doesn't show up when I'm watching stuff. I also noticed that when I use "Nvidia video post processor" setting, that I'm actually using ffdshow, as evidenced by the on-screen display. So I guess my question is -- is this normal? If so, how do I change the settings for the codec? How can I be sure that the Nvidia codec is the one being used? I still find all this stuff very confusing... Thanks, Mike |

I don't think I've ever seen the icon when I specifically select nVidia Video Decoder. I usually switch to Default (which is nVidia since it's the only one I have installed) when I need to change something in the decoder settings. I think it has something to do with the way Sage invokes the filter that causes the tray icon not to display.
As for ffdshow I'm not sure, if it's not selected as the decoder, if you don't have Default selected as the renderer, and didn't specify it as a post processor in the properties file it shouldn't be there. |
