Enable Firefly

Ok, I just put together my Sage dual tuner box (very very easy!). Everything is working great. I also purchased and installed a firefly remote. It appears to be working, as it runs in the task tray, and Beyond Media pops up when I hit the "big button". However, I only bought this remote to control SageTV, however, it doesn't seem to work out of the box with Sage. What do I need to do to enable Sage to work with the Firefly? Thanks in advance!

You should remove beyond media and just use the basic firefly drivers with Girder and it's firefly plugin.

There are a few interresting links here:

but the ones on girder seems to be down right now.

Basically, you need to uninstall the whole package that the remote comes with and install the basic drivers so that girder can pick up those events and trigger Sage through sendmessage.

Then you get the sage template for girder and just assign buttons.

Check the following thread

There is a good example of a FireFly config file that will probably map the buttons to most of the actions you want.
