Screen caps?
Is there any way to make screen caps of recorded video within Sage? When I try a simple screen capture it doesn't work unless I turn the hardware acceleration for the video card off.

What video renderer are you using?
For Overlay: there are a few screen capture programs out there that can capture the overlay video output, but there is the problem that the UI will not be visible on that capture. For VMR9: simply use the Print Screen key to capture the entire Windows desktop or use Alt+Print Screen to capture the current window. This capture will grab the VMR9 video + the UI that is displayed on top of it, so you will get the entire SageTV display. - Andy

VMR9, and Print Screen or PSP's capture feature does not work unless I disable the hardware acceleration.
Ever thought of adding this feature in the future ? |

Do you mean that you turned off acceleration on the card in some way, or do you mean that you disabled 3d acceleration in SageTV? If it is on the card, I guess that affects what screen captures can grab, something I never ran into. (In SageTV, disabling 3d acceleration would mean you are no longer using VMR9 & I think it falls back to overlay, so I suppose you mean some card/driver setting.)

I turned off the hardware acceleration of the video card. This usually works in WMP when playing MPG video, but I was hoping there was another way to do it within Sage.
I noticed my recording also lost sound an hour into it, and also lost at the same point in WMP, but at least the sound came back when I restarted the program, which is better than what the program used to do when I had to reinstall to get the sound back! (I'm thinking my daughter did something while I was out that managed to corrupt the sound.) |

Hm, Printscreen always works for me with Sage and VMR9 (3D Accelleration must be enabled in Detailed Setup -> Advanced, or you aren't using VMR9).

one of the two software programs that i use for taking still screenshots of TV video is Capture Professional v6 which is found at http://www.creativesoftworx.com/screen-capture.html -- there's a demo version that you can try but you'll have to buy the full version in order to get it to save the file properly. the way i have sagetv working with the settings that i'm using, i can't do the printscreen from windows. so i use the Capture Professional software. it also works when i what to capture still screenshots when using my other TV and video software programs.

ACDSee 7.0 is what I am using, in general, for my image manipulation and and viewing. It comes with a ton of image tools including a screen cap utility. That thing can take caps of anything. From games, to Sage, to Meedio, to well anything.

This is a Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II card... is this a known problem? |

Do you have DX9c installed? It's necessary for 3D Accelleration.
