Why is Sage TV deleting favorites?
I had all my favorites set for the specific channel such as scrubs local NBC
apprentice local NBC survivor local CBS I did this because I started getting local CBS showing up as channel like 2205 So I had to set the favorites to the specific local channel To make sure I was getting the show. All my favorites were set as Manual Delete. I moved so I set all my favorites to the NEW local CBS, NBC FOX Channels. Well SAGE TV DELETED ALL MY OLD FAVORITES THAT WERE recorded with the old local channels!!!  sagetvI Lost over 200GIG OF SHOWS because I changed the station of my favorites from say WBCS to WBCS. Some shows we back to September!!! And I lost the last 5 eps of the apprentice.

Ouch. Sorry to hear this
 I wonder if some software could get it back, been a long time since i tried this but seems to me norton systemworks was able to recover some of my accidentally deleted files for me...

That does suck. I lost a lot of favorites once, too, because I deleted the "Favorite" entry thinking I was deleting the scheduled recording of that show. I thought they'd since added a confirmation or something..

What version of SageTV was being used? Version 2.0 would delete all non-favs & non-manual recordings if IR was OFF and the property seeker/clear_partials_and_unwanted_when_ir_off was set to true. This problem has been known for a long time & was resolved in v2.1 so that existing recordings whose status changed (no longer a fav, for example) would NOT be deleted.
There is an undelete utility listed at the end of this list of Utilities for use with SageTV, but the files may not be recoverable. If using a newer version of SageTV, what is the Display Filter set to on the SageTV Recordings screen? Use the Options command to see the pop-up Options menu. See p. 35 of the v2.2 manual. It is possible to filter out non-favs so that they appear not to exist. - Andy
