Difference between quality settings?

Didn't see this listed out in the FAQ or anything but link me up if I missed it....

I'm looking for something that tells me what the difference is between all the different video quality settings there are in SageTV. Good, Great, Best, DVD Std, DVD Long, DVD, Extra Long, SVCD....

I want to get as much data on a DVD as I can without having crappy quality but I don't see anywhere that actually says what the difference is between all the settings...

Thanks.
