STV 2.2 Resource Usage at 100%

I upgraded to 2.2 about a month ago, and began having problems. At first I thought it was my DirectX version, which Sage would say I needed to upgrade most every time I'd use it. So I'd reinstall DirectX, restart, and everything would be fine for awhile. But now, if I leave the computer on overnight while only running Sage, by morning the Task Manager will show 100% processor usage. If I restart, everything will be fine for a few hours. I thought perhaps running the program as a service caused the issue, but it doesn't seem to make a difference in either mode. My hardware otherwise is capable of running the program.

Any ideas on what steps I need to take to fix this perplexing problem?

Just stumbled across your post while looking to solve my own problems. Did you get this fixed? I'm troubleshooting a similar issue now. Here is my checklist of potential causes:

1. Heat buildup (this sounds like it could be your issue)
2. changing the quartz.dll file to fix the FF/REW bug
3. upgrading to 2.2 (like you)
4. messed up codecs, reinstall
5. messed up Hauppauge drivers, reinstall hardware and software

Let me know if you found any solution and I'll do the same as I run through my checklist this weekend.

I'll also point you to this thread fyi:
