Jukebox questions
I've never really used this side of SageTV and just thought i'd setup a few albums to have a look.
A few questions. i) You can't ask it to play an entire album directly?! i only appear to be able to say play at the song level.. i can add an entire album to a playlist, but there is no notion of the currently playing playlist.. Not a problem as such, make my own currently playing playlist and manage it accordingly. ii) Is there a way of looking at whats going to be played, do you have to use playlists to do this and then you can look at the progress through a particular playlist? iii) is there any level matching going off!? I have a track that starts quite and peaks to a drum beat.. I can hear it sounding quite loud with the quiet part of the track and then when the drum hits the start of the hit is loud and it sounds like it just turns the volume down quite sharply.. it goes from sounding clear and at a good volume to being muddy and quiet. I am wondering if this is a Sage feature, or its a side effect of me trying out the jukebox via the MVP.. if its the latter then i'll ask about that back on the hardware forum under the right post It looks quite neat though.. if the quality can be resolved on MVP then it'd make a decent edition to a reciever setup with a tv. If you are open to other programs, check out Command Cubes (www.commandcubes.com). I use that program as my Juke Box and it's great. Can setup multiple zones and have them sync'd or playing separate things, can view by album, artist, genre, etc. Can make playlists, or jsut do it random.
It's designed with big buttons specifically to work with a Touchpanel monitor type application. I think I'm going to be putting it and Sage on the same box and see what happens. |
