Wierd video problem! help please
Just in the last day or 2 the picture if all scrunched up to the last side of the screen with a bunch of black to the right. I am also seeing a band of static running along the bottom of the screen.
This only happens in Sage.TV, The picture is fine in WinTv2000! I am using a WinTV PVR-250 card on a Windows XP pro system. No cable box. Just straight in cable. Thanks for anyb help! Ralph |

In my experience, this is a function of VMR9 and various MPEG decoders. On my system, a number of decoders will exhibit this behavior when SageTV is in a window on the main screen and not when it's full screen. To date, the only decoders that have not demonstrated this are the DScaler and NVidia decoders. Cyberlink does it sometimes and all the others do it all the time. I haven't found any reasonable answer to it yet. Interestingly, the Cyberlink decoder will be fine for a while and then get weird. Don't know why. Doesn't seem to be either CPU or memory dependent, but maybe.
Nvidia GeForce4 MX440, TV secondary in clone mode, secondary as full screen device, Directx9.0c with 12/4/04 update, Driver 61.77, VMR9, 3D Acceleration enabled, overlay color keying enabled. The short answer is try different decoders until it goes away. |
