Sage Suddenly stops listing recorded shows
This is the oddest thing. This has happened twice.
I'm using sage TV with malore.stv everything has been working fine until I rebooted teh computer, and went into recorded shows and ALL my shows were missing! It listed "No Shows" I made sure all the filters were off and everything and still no shows listed. I checked the directory where all the recordings are saved and everything is there. All the shows are still there, but they do not show up in the sageTV recordings window. Anyone know how to fix this? I'm simply stumpped All my favorites are also gone as well Last edited by Opopanax; 03-28-2005 at 08:02 PM. |

What version are you running? It sounds like wiz.bin got corrupted somehow -- that is where all the show info + favorites/etc are stored. It is supposed to then revert to wiz.bak, but if everything was cleared out, it sounds like that failed too. Do you have any backups of these files from a couple days ago? If so, try exiting SageTV completely, replacing wiz.bin with a backup, and restarting SageTV.

You've got 2 corrupt wiz.bin files that were subsequently replaced. I don't know what caused the corruption, but v2.2 is supposed to have fixed some bugs that could cause that. I suggest you consider updating to v2.2 (see info here) at some point. You may also want to periodically make your own backups of wiz.bin and/or wiz.bak.

is there anyway to do a quick and probably dirty fix to get it to recgonize the shows in the folder, or more importantly my favorites list? I don't remember all of them sadly.

Unfortunately, once wiz.bin is gone, so is the show info, all the favorites, and other database items. It is _supposed_ to use wiz.bak to recover itself, but that must be bad sometimes too. (Again: v2.2 is supposed to be more stable in this regard.)
I think laurenglenn's custom STV has the ability to save your favorites to the registry & restore them later, but that only helps for future problems. Without a valid wiz.bin backup file, about the only thing you can do with the current recordings is to move them to a library import dir & watch them that way. But, there won't be any detailed show info. - Andy
