sage.PlaybackException: ERROR (04,0x0)
I just downloaded the trial version of Sage (version SageTV V2.2.7) to evaluate to purchace. I finished the setup successfully.
My hardware consists of ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe MB, AMD 64 3500, 2gb ram, two PNY 6600GT video, 2 sata DVD-RW, sata 250gb HD, WinTV 350. WinXP Pro svc pack 2. I then tried to watch tv and I get the following error: There was a Playback Error in playback. Details: sage.PlaybackException: ERROR (-4,0x0): There was a problem rendering the video portion of the content for playback. I can watch tv using WinTV2000 application. I did a search on the forumn to see if I could find anything that would possibly work. The only recomendation that I attempted was to go change the rendering by going to "detailed design", then to "video", and then modify the "Video Renderer" and "MPEG Video Decoder Filter". I played with thrse settings as was unable to change the symptom. I would appreciate your assistance in getting this rectified. SAGE TV shows promise to purchase. How are going to output the recordings? Are you going to use the PVR 350 or the video cards? Let us know your current settings in the Detailed Setup regarding Video Renderer and Decoder. What type of television are you going to use with Sage? If you are using the PVR 350 for output you may not have it activated in the Setup. Check the manual because it has a reference to enable the 350 although with your video cards I would use them myself.

I have the same with a WinTV 150
I have the same problem on my rig (Geforce2 MX, wintv 150, Winxp). however I also have another install of Windows Xp on the same drive. and if i boot into that it runs like a dream (by the way, a very sweet product there, Sage).
So the problem is almost certainly a driver issue, I will update all of those and post when it is fixed. Q |

I would suggest you forward this info (along with your fix) to the technical support team at Sage.
