Sage 2.2 disables screensaver even when using PVR350 TV out

Hi all,

I'm using SageTV 2.2, with the Hauppauge PVR350. "hardware decoding only" is enabled, so when watching a show it only appears on the TV, not on the PC monitor, which is what I want.

When I watch a show, Sage disables the screensaver for the PC, so the monitor remains on, even though I'm only using the hardware decoder to watch the recording on the TV. Whhen I tried version 2.0, the screensaver would kick in and turn the monitor off, leaving the recording playing on the TV. The 2.2 manual states that Sage disables the screensaver/power management during playback.

Is there a setting somewhere which allows the screensaver/power management to start if "hardware decoding only" is selected? I want to be able to watch the recordings, but still have the monitor turn off after 2 minutes. I've tried setting ui/disable_screen_saver_and_pm to false (default) but it didn't help...

Cheers
Buzzy

Just curious if you found a solution to this. I am struggling with the same problem.
Thanks!

Unfortunately, I haven't had a response from anyone on this.

Anyone else had the same problem? Anyone found a solution?

Cheers

Do you have the UI on the TV too? If so, try leaving SageTV sleeping in the system tray and control it with event codes via Windows messages instead of keystrokes. (How you do that will depend on what type of remote/receiver/software you are using.)

I'll give that a try and let you know how it goes; thanks for the tip. Having said that, I'll have to wait until I can get the TV fixed, because it's decided to pack up on me this weekend.

Edit: Got the TV going. Disabled the screensaver and minimized Sage to the system tray; but the monitor still doesn't switch off when playing content in Sage
