I got mine last night, and love it. I can't wait till some of the better games come out, and somebody comes out with a UMD burner, so I can put movies on it without having to buy a $150 memory stick to fit it.

Ick... Sony.

I would rather not play games at all, or lug my XBOX around, than buy something from Sony.

EDIT: Although I will admit the PSP is swanky looking.

Whatcha using? PSP9? What size are you getting your videos down to and what size card are you using? I have a 256MB card, but haven't tried this yet.

I use PSP9 and have a 1 gig card. Its kind of a pain to transfer the files though. I wish Sony would release a browser that allowed you to access audio/video files from share! That little mobile feature would put this ting over the top.

LOVE IT

Well, I think it’s been years sense my last post, no real reason. I’m up to date with development, considering my poker friends.

I’ve been using the PSP export functions allot, almost 50gig's. I love it, my kids love it in the car (via FM transmitter). I seem to use it more now when I travel, airports can be such a drag! I personally think it one of the best things that sage has developed in a while.

Now if only it could trans-code in real time while my PSP was in USB mode (AKA hard drive mode) that would be cool. The ability to set the recording output format and directory. This would only serve my selfish natural of wasting time trans-coding after the show was recorded.

Well, I’m going to look around the forums and see what else I can comment on.

Later

PimPstreamer

I saw this thread when I was looking for psp conversion options.

If you have psp firmware 1.5 or a modded version of 2.71 (i.e. SE-B or C) you can just run pimpstreamer to watch your sage videos from anywhere.

I use it wirelessly around the house to watch my sagetv programs while i walk around and do things. Many people have used it in places where there is a highspeed connection out of the house and you can watch anywhere that has a highspeed wireless connection (your upload bandwidth will also determine things).

All you need to do is install the files in the PSP games folder, specify the Sage IP, and run a client on the sage system. It is fairly CPU intensive for on the fly encoding (I am using a AMD 2200+) but works great.

PSPnews has all the files.

Just bought my PSP the other day. Love it so far. I'm not a gamer that much but I may turn into one with this. My main idea for buying it was SageTV video file playback during traveling, internet browser, Mp3 player, DVD watching (converting my current DVD's over).
Streaming my SageTV content over the internet to the PSP using ORB.COM.

While searching for a good video playback, I could not find anything with as good a screen (4 inches). Zen has something but it was way more expensive. Ipod is way to small a screen. I can even hook this up in my car that has an AUX in and play the sound through my stereo while watching my favorite tv shows that Sage recorded.

The down sides to the PSP? No hard drive. Got to use the 1,2,4 Gigabyte cards. Internet browsing is real slow using 802.11b. Bad text editing. No way for answering email in a timely manner.

Price: $169-$199 but prepare to buy about an extra $50-$100 in accessories including a larger pro duo stick card ($40 1 gig).

Thanks for the tip. This is very cool. I just set this up on my son's PSP, and it works great. Are you able to control the tuner from sage through the psp or are you controlling it through sage client ?

You might be able to control the tuner from the Sage webserver. It has funtion that lets you type in channels, etc. I dont have a PSP, so I cant try it.

I am waiting for something more open that uses SD cards...like XGP:
