Why use DSCaler Deinterlacer if nVidia Decoder also deinterlaces?
In the video options I see that I can select to use Dscaler to deinterlace my video. But I noticed when I installed the nVidia Decoder it gave me an option to use 'Smart' deinterlacing.
Does it benefit to use both? Are they mutually exclusive? I am very new to HTPC (8 days up and running now) so please feel free to give me all the info you can. |

I think you'll find that you can't enable the DScaler option unless you are using the Elecard or the SageTV decoder, though the SageTV decoder might not have it enabled either now that I think about it. This is mentioned on p. 140 of the v2.2 manual.
