Niveus RF remote control

Does anyone have experience using the Niveus PC remote with Sage TV?
I would like to use this remote and it's RF capability instaed of using a media extender since my PVR is located in a different room than my primary TV.

I bought this, and it worked great for the first 2 weeks. Then all of a sudden, the learning function stopped working. Then the "mouse" navigational buttons stopped working. I have no idea what is the problem. I emailed the nevius but they stopped replying to my messages. The other buttons still work, but I just can't teach it to learn more commands or use the mouse buttons.

Yes, I'm currently using Girder to control Sage with the Niveus.

An interesting thing with the Niveus is that the manual is wrong. When teaching it, you have to press both buttons on each remote at the same time.

I'm aware of that, and I did get it to learn commands before using the method found at HTPC-News. But there's something wrong with the remote, it can't doit anymore. When I press Setup, TV, and Learn, the red LED starts blinking about 8 times in a row and then nothing else happens after that, it doesn't matter what button I press, it doesn't seem the they are registering.

Also the mouse buttons stopped working at the same time. All other buttons
seem ok though and works well with SageTV. And I did managed to teach to learn my TV commands before it started to go wacked.
