How Do I Prevent WinTV2000 From Disabling Sage TV Audio?

I have a Hauppauge PVR-350 card, and sometimes use WinTV2000 (version 4.6.22278) to watch view TV on my PC monitor. I use WinTV2000 for viewing because it does not write to the hard drive, rather than running SageTV and having it automatically strart recording a show that I only intend to view "live".

I am trying SageTV, and have found that if I run the WinTV2000 application, SageTV no longer has audio. The only fix I have found so far is to reboot the PC.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to prevent SageTV from losing its audio?

Thanks in advance for any help or ideas.

The obvious would be to not run WinTV2000! But you already know that. I don't use WinTV2000 so don't know what is causing the conflict or how to alleviate it. Personally I like the timeshift feature of SageTV "LiveTV".

I ran into the same problem right before vacation. I lost audio on a week's worth of recordings because of Wintv2000. What I did to fix this is:

Start Sagetv and start "watch live tv"
start wintv2000

This forced Sage to change to the channel that Wintv2000 was last on.
I then closed Wintv2000 and Sage's audio was on again.

If you are going to use Wintv2000 (which you shouldn't) just make sure you do the above so Sage gets the audio forced to work again. A future feature is during the configuration setup you can doublecheck the audio is working. I'm using Sagetv V5.0.4.92 and at the end of the video setup Sage brought me back to the setup screen. It's been over a year since I ran the wizard, but I don't remember ever having an audio check.
