Nope, I'm not running it as a service, at least, I don't think.

I think the account it is on should be okay. It's just set up on a regular account. I have DVD Profiler setup on another machine, which exports it's file over the network, to the Sage machine. The file shows up, and obviously I'm getting meta data, just not the pictures.

Does the STV (or Sage) take the collection.xml, and copy pictures to another location? Should I have DVD Profiler installed on the local Sage machine to get that to work correctly? (Maybe that's the problem, are there just references in that .xml file to the picture files?)

It will try and copy using plain old windows file system. So the local machine needs to be able to see the image source and location either through UNC or a drive letter.

If you import a video with a path of e:\DVD\Title\Video_ts that is the path it will try and copy to. The image source will be whatever you have set in your properties file.

mlbdude/DVDProfiler_Root=D\:\\Program Files\\InterVocative Software\\DVD Profiler

Ah...bet it's something to do with this, right?

That is the image source. So make sure that is a valid path from the machine you are using Sage.

That's not a valid path at all. How would I specify over the network? If I share the DVD Profiler directory on my remote machine as "DVD Profiler", what would the path name look like, if my remote PC's computer name is studypc?

Like this?

mlbdude/DVDProfiler_Root=\\studypc\\DVD Profiler

I would try that but I think you have to escape the backslash and it could be like:

\\\\studypc\\\\DVD Profiler

MLB -
just noticed that the "All" and "Suggestions" views are showing the same list.
This happens in both "recordings" and "schedule" screens.

You think the shows that show up in the "shceduled" view can be excluded from the "Suggestions" view ?

Also - i noticed a possible bug introduced in last night's dev build - the channel setup screen is not showing up correctly. Also, enabling a channel enabled it in the guide but did not assign it to any tuners.

Hi mlbdude,

I just wanted to post a quick note for you about a tiny problem in the STV. The "Finish Source Setup" button on the "Setup Tuners" display doesn't actually seem to do anything. In the default STV it exits the source setup display, but in this one it doesnt have any visible effect. Obviously a tiny issue, but thought it worth mentioning in case new users try your STV and get confused by the behaviour. Alt+left works to get out of the screen, though.

It is the background setting in the actual stv... open studio and follow it down to the Settings and Parental Controls chains... you will see the properties are set for background1024.jpg... You can change it. Hopefully mlbdude will fix it in an upcoming dev build.

The same holds true for the small fonts on the weather page... It was dropped down to 'fontsize*1.5' as opposed to the 'normal' *2 and bold. (I think...)

Added back Simple Weather to main menu.

My Music now remembers your last used view when returning to the menu.

My Videos now has a Play menu item when viewing by File System. It will queue up all videos from the current folder and all of its subfolders and auto play the queue.

Thanks- that really improved my music for me. Thanks again for all your hard work, Mike

Another suggestion for my music...

When using sort by artist, and there is only one album for a particular artist, the songs on the album are not listed in order. It would be nice if when I click on an artist and there is only one album, that the songs are in order.

It does not seem to be a problem if there are multiple albums as those albums are listed and then sorted correctly if the album is selected.

Thanks, Mike

I was wondering, is there any way to show more than 25 upcoming recordings? It would be really nice to see recordings further into the future than a few days.

Yes... by changing the lookahead you can see further than the normal three days. It is not a function of this stv however... try here:

It is supposed to be like that. I will check it.

It would be nice to get a SageMC documentation project going.
Wiki's are actually pretty easy once you get into them. Go to the bottom, hit "Edit This Page". Scroll down in the textbox until you see the STV's section. Add a line, something like:

* [wiki:SageMC169 SageMC 16x9] MLBDude's awesome STV

The part in the brackets means "Create a WIKI link to the page SageMC169, title the link "SageMC 16x9". The space asterisk means that this line is part of a list. The stuff after the brackets is just text.

Preview to make sure nothing is hosed, then save. Back on the main page, click on the link. This should take you to a blank page, or straight into an editor, not sure which on this Wiki. Start typing.

Remember: Content first, pretty second. Play around in the Sandbox first if you want to get a feel for things. The formatting guide is at http://www.sage-community.org/index....WikiFormatting

Actually, it was \\\\studypc\\DVD Profiler

I was having a networking problem on the HTPC though. For some reason, I couldn't see the shared folders on the studypc via network neighborhood. After a few settings were adjusted, everything started working.

In the mean time, when I tried the above location, I got the spinning icon for a long time, which I figured meant it was working, only it couldn't access the network. Anyway, now that it's fixed, my pictures are back. Thanks for the help. Looks like it's be a big day for you, as far as getting a lot done! Thanks!!!

Almost...

Change the AlbumTheme under Parental controls from background1024.jpg to background.png (under the MCE folder) and the SetupWizardMenuTheme under Channel Setup Old from background1024.jpg to background.png.

Also, I see that you are changing the weather screen, but with the 'shrink to fit' check set on the DayName under forecast, the text is very small. Maybe a two line high box? 'Scattered Strong Storms' is only just legible... On the MVP (to an SDTV...) it does not make it...

If there were a poll, or a vote, I'd have to say I like the older, "Simpler" weather.. that screen showed me just about everything in one window.. no addition keypresses or button pushes needed.. and if I wanted to see the 10 day, I saw the whole thing at once.. I know we can choose from 6 themes now, how about setting up 'weather themes' so that we can select from different, already completed, themes?

Just a thought!

mlb-
the channel setup screen is still broken.
the lineup screen remains overlayed over the channels screen.
enabling a channel adds it to the guide but not to any tuners.

here's a screenshot channelsetup.jpg
