Freezing problem

After trying many free alternatives I wanted to see if some $$ will buy me happiness. Downloaded the latest version, installed it without any problems.
At works with my WinTV PVR USB 2.0, MyIR, NVIDIA codecs. The look and feel is great. It does everything I need.

The only problem is after I switch channels or media (DVD in different drives) the screen freezes. No keyboard or mouse response within the Sage app. If I minimize the window and then restore it its all black.

I’m using the latest NVIDIA WHQL drivers (71.84) on an Asus FX5700 card with dual view.

The only other complaint is the low frame rate in high quality modes. Is that caused by WinTV PVR USB 2.0 performance issues? (I hope to switch to firewire, if can get one of those SA4200 boxes from Cablevision. Will that give me no dropped frames and perfect video quality? Or it’s a waste of time?)
Is there a performance optimizing guide for Sage somewhere?
