Sports push programming times up

Sometimes sports, such a baseball or basketbrawl tend to go into extra innings or overtime and then some stations will *move* the following programs instead of just starting at the point where they *should* be.

I know I've been burned once or twice where I wanted to record the Simpsons and I later find that the EPG was incorrect due to sport running late.

My current solution to this problem is to just use the pad feature to pad an hour in case the EPG is completely off.

Is there a better solution?

Not really. If the shows aren't aired when the EPG says they will be, there isn't a whole lot to do but pad the recordings. You used The Simpsons as an example... I pad that one with an extra hour or more of recording time since it is pushed extremely late due to sports quite often.

If the teams can't finish their games on time, maybe they should just end the show on-time with a "to be continued..." message.
