Remote 500?

Opus,
The remote posted here they say is for the 350 but nothing about the 500. Does Hauppauge make a newer one than this? Can I use it to control my TV also? Does it "learn" commands from other remotes?

That is the newest Hauppuage remote and it is not a learning or universal remote.

The mce versions of their tuner cards do not have the port for the IR receiver or blaster, so that is why they say the remote is for the pvr- 250, 350, and usb2. It is for sale on that site as a replacement for their older style remote, since all the tuners now come with this newer 45-button remote.

(BTW: I split the question from the remote info index thread, since that thread is really for info links only, not discussions.)

i bought a USB-UIRT and sage was kind enough to put a section in the setup for programming remote codes. i simply took my tv remote and set it to STB mode. then i programmed a few important sage functions with the remote. bingo.

as a note, i initially tried this with my receiver remote, but it was sending the same remote code for lots of buttons.
