I have noticed that with inteligent recording turned on that sagetv will record things that you have marked that you don't like. Making the "don't like" marking somewhat useless.

As well because I only watch tv in stretches every once and a while I mark shows I just don't have space for as "Don't like" it would be nice to have a alphabetical list that we can see where we can put them back on the 'like' list.

The Don't Like setting influences IR, but a single setting doesn't tell it to ignore all episodes of a series. Individual shows marked as Don't Like should not be recorded by IR, though. You could try the aggressive_negative_profiling property by setting it to true -- see p. 178 in the v2.2 manual.

A few custom STVs have a Viewing History menu, where you can set/reset such things as Watched & Don't Like for older shows in the databse that are no longer recorded.

The custom STV method of setting all shows in the series as dont like should be automatic when you mark more then 2 or 3 as dont like. Maybe Frey will change this behavior in a future release.

The other annoying thing IR does is record reruns of favorites, even if you already watched them! That does not make a lot of sense since they are in the database already.

Yes, if there is a fav marked to record First Runs only, IR often picks up Reruns too, so I've taken to setting a fav for just reruns & setting it to record only 1 or 2 & not auto delete. It then stops recording any more after a couple are recorded.

Do those watched recordings have unique IDs? If so, then they should not be recorded again by IR. The problem I see is that some series just use the same SH### ID number for every episode, so they can't be distunguished & they therefore all get recorded every time they air. I've passed a couple of those series on to Frey so they could bring it up with the EPG provider.
