Need Remote Help - Have tried everything

Setup:

WinTV-PVR-USB2
Sage TV 2.1
Infrared Receiver Port - None
45 button remote

The remote will change channels, pause, and a few other functions.

I can not get it to recognize the remote when Showing SageTV commands in the detailed setup function.

I have tried installing the 45 button remote .ini file. This caused the remote to stop functioning alltogether.

I am now back to the original .ini file. Remote works with limited functionality.

Lastly, I would like to be able to get the computer out of sleep mode once, I get the remote working.

I tried to restart my remote and received the following message:

"Failed to initialize infrared remote hardware"

I did not notice this before. I will be searching the forum, but if you have an answer, I would be very happy.

I fixed the failed to initialize problem. Plugged USB back in ......ooops. I still have the remote issue.

The original irremote.ini will not work with SageTV, since the SageTV installation only modifies it to work with the older style remote. You will need to install one of the ini files mentioned at the end of this FAQ entry and then restart ir.exe. The zip files for the new remote should each have a readme.txt file with more instructions.

I re-installed as you suggested and it worked. I do not know what I did on my first attempt. It is working now.
