black screen using liveTV
Hello,
I Recently installed the pva-250 with wintv2000 and the remote software. I also installed SageTV and digicasa plugin. When I use SageTV (liveTV) I have a black screen with audio working fine. If I use wintv2000 everthing works fine. I uninstalled SageTV and reinstalled it but still have the same problem. Are there any suggestions. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks Karl |

I encountered the same problem last night.
In my case, I had just changed my video decoder from VMR9 to overlay, and the video menu option to "windows". Then I started having this problem with a black video screen. For me, the problem goes away when I change back to VMR9 with "background" video. However, I would like to understand how to fix this because I'd like to be able to use overlay. Mike |

nielm posted a reply to what seems to be a similar question. Does that help? It seems that not all video cards can output overlay to a secondary monitor. Overlay works on both of my monitors, but you may have to set your TV to be the primary monitor or try another dual-monitor mode for your video card. (Clone may not show the overlay video on the cloned output.)

Hmm... yes, that helps. I know I had the video going to the TV using overlay last week, but it's possible that the TV was set to be the primary display.
Thanks, I'll try that! Mike |
