Maximum bitrate for imported videos?
What is the maximum bitrate that SageTV supports for imported videos?
I tranferred video from my HDV camcorder (which comes out as an MPEG2 transport stream file, but will playback under MPEG decoders) but when played through SageTV, the 1440x1080 video stutters unmercifully. However, if I shut SageTV down and just play it on Media Player, it plays back just fine. HDV is 25Mb/s. |

Answers to both previous questions.....
1. I am using 2.2.6 RC 2. HDV (High Def DV) is 25 mega-bits per second MPEG2 Main Profile@High Level, Long GOP. 1440x1080 interlaced with a pixel aspect ratio of 1.33:1 giving a display of 1920x1080 60i |

Report it as a bug, the Sage MPEG demux seems to have some trouble with HD MPEG.

Using S-video, VGA, DVI, or component output?
Try S-video with the Overlay renderer and see if it is any different.

Just curious is it a .mpg or a .ts/.tp/.trp? I though Jeff changed something so ts files would use a different demux that works better.

Yes, it plays back just fine with Windows Media 10.
The files that come from the camcorder are MPEG 2 Transport Stream files (.m2t). Although with WinXP SP2, Media Player knows how to play them. This is what puzzles me..... why can MP play the files, but not SageTV. Now that I shoot my kids in HD, I want to play the files back in HD (can't go back to SD..... kill me first!) |

seeker/video_library_import_filename_extensions=.mpg,.mpeg,.mp2,.mpeg2,.mpe,.avi,.divx,.mpg1,.ts
So did you add .m2t to this line or change the filename or do some conversion?

If I understand correctly, they play in Sage, just not well. Which, I'm afraid to say, isn't really a surprise to me. Some HD plays better than other, but it seems rather hit or miss right now.
