SageTV won't record
I have no problems playing the live tv, but when i click the "record" button nothing happens. This happens in the live tv guide, as well as trying to schedule a recording.
I know this is a vauge question, but can anyone help me out? If you need more info just ask and I'll be happy to get it for you. Thanks, Jeff |

What kind of tuner are you using? Check the list of supported tuners. If you are using a software encoder card, SageTV cannot use it to record any shows.

I have an ATI TV Wonder Pro. I looked on their website and I can't find anywhere saying if it is or isn't a software encoder card. It's not listed under the supported cards, but a different ATI card is listed.
Would it be possible that i dont have an MPEG-2 software decoder and that's he problem? Or is it probably the card? |

That card is in fact a software encoder, unsupported by Sage.

That sucks. It's not listed on the supported list, but does anyone know if the Hauppauge! WinTV-GO PCI Card is compatable with Sage?

It is not... that's a software encoder too.
