Question Plextor PX-TV402U + audio sync

First, I'm really enjoying SageTV. I think it's a great product.

I have just one problem that's preventing me from moving my setup to the living room. If I record a show that's 30 minutes, I have no problems with audio / video sync. However, if I record a two-hour show, the audio progressively goes out of sync with the video (it begins to be noticable after about an hour).

This is not a problem if I record a two-hour show with the bundled InterVideo PVR software.

My Setup:
P4 1.6 GHz
512 MB DDR
SageTV 2.1
Latest Java 1.4 Runtime
Windows XP SP2 (AV software disabled for testing)

Thanks for your help.

More Information

I've read some things in the forums about mmc/enable_mpeg4_timeshifting. I set this value to false, recorded a two-hour show, and the audio sync was fine. Timeshifting is really important to me, so I hope this isn't the only fix. Does anyone here know why this would be happening? BTW, I am using DivX Home Theatre Medium-Quality. Thanks.

2.2.6 Beta - same problem

Just installed 2.2.6 beta last night, recorded a two-hour show, and experienced the same problem. From what I can tell, it seems that the audio sync is off from the very beginning, but it gets noticably bad after about an hour (the longer the recording, the further off the sync).

Thanks for any help or suggestions.

You may want to check with tech support to see if they know more about this now & mention your results with that property setting. The sync problem has been mentioned by others towards the end of this thread, so you might want to check to see if they solved it too.

Update:
Frey Technologies has been able to reproduce this problem and are consider it a bug. No word on a fix. This only happens on mpeg4/DivX files that require the mpg wrapper. Turning off timeshifting seems to correct the problem.

I have two Plextor ConvertX PX-TV402U units and I have huge audio to video sync issues. That was a good observation … 30 minute files seem okay, although I think they may be a bit off at the end … it’s hard to tell. Anything over 30 minutes is a real problem. I looked at my video files and I had 5 hour long programs recorded in a row (hour after hour). The first was a little off, the second and the rest were completely messed up. I just turned off the timeshifting (mmc/enable_mpeg4_timeshifting=false) and I post the results when I have recorded video to check.
